The journey which led to this blog for homemakers

Many think it is not fashionable or remunerative to be a homemaker, and despise the very feeling of belonging to this fraction of the society. The society nevertheless comprises a chunk of this fraction of homemakers who cannot be neglected. It is always safe to call yourself a banker or a Government employee, an entrepreneur or an artist, but you dread yourself when you do not identify yourself with a non-revenue earning profession like homemaking. Some staunch believers of the theory that you are not productive unless you have carved a niche for yourself and have an identity of your own, would definitely disapprove of anything that has to do with positive homemaking. Some dismiss a homemaker at first review, saying that a homemaker always has financial freedom and support, and so they have a choice to become a homemaker. Is this superficial thought, really true? Are all homemakers always financially secure? Should homemakers, all the time, have to be women?  Are they really having an easy way out of life? This blog is an attempt to address the core issues, insecurities and struggles that a homemaker continues to have. Every blog has a take home for the reader and this home making blog is no different, but it tries to go a step further by attempting to bust the myth surrounding homemaking, by being a beacon for the readers to realize their self-worth and the importance they bring to their family and their society.  Some people are very motivating and approve of themselves and others being homemakers and are always proud of the tiny steps they take towards greater goodness. I have always strived to belong to the latter stock of people who would want to clap and motivate even the weakest step taken towards betterment.

Convent school education, the exposure received when growing up in a tier II city in India, born to parents who are both working professionals, post graduate education which had sharpened both written and oral communication skills, the work experience that had polished one into a poised personality, nothing listed above can prepare oneself when harsh reality hits you on the face and you need to reinvent yourself and adapt to accept life changing situations. After all why is God omnipresent if you are able to breeze through life, without the innumerable struggles. It is with great honor and pride one should associate oneself with service to family, society and the Nation, and being a homemaker, you will be able to accomplish every milestone mentioned above. The will to stretch yourself a little more devoid of expectations is in itself a skill that needs no recognition, since it brings you closer to your need for earthly liberation. The primary aspect of being a true homemaker is not losing yourself in this cumbersome process, but to enjoy every chore and every step in the journey, hand in hand with every other homemaker, motivating each other in the process for an enriching journey and to cherish every moment even if it does not qualify as an achievement in your expectation scale.

It is wise to always remember that, it is the effort that matters and not the result.
